Mary L. Mittag, born December 15, 1945, age 73, of Bolingbrook, IL, entered eternal glory on August 8, 2019.

Mary graduated from York High School in 1964. Following graduation, she continued by taking some professional typing classes. She met the love of her life Douglas Mittag at their mutual friend's wedding. They got married on June 24, 1972. They took pleasure in 47 years of marriage where they fostered 22 Children and adopted 3 together, Walker Elliott, Jessica Chaidez, and Shilynn Mittag. She later became the loving grandmother to numerous grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She valued spending time with family by going to the movies, going out to eat, and traveling out of town. One of her favorite places to visit was their lake house in Wisconsin. Mary was also very active in the church volunteering by helping in the office, with Sunday school, and other events. She also took delight in learning and sharing God's word through Bible study, LWML, and Steven Ministry.

Mary was preceded in death by her step-sisters: Irene Meininger and Betty (the late Roland) Primas and her mother Bernice Schoenke.

A visitation will be held Saturday, August 17, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church , 525 63rd St., Downers Grove, Illinois, where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private at Hillcrest Cemetery in Bolingbrook.
