Mary Elsiebeth McDaniel, age 90, a resident of Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream and formerly of Wheaton, died Monday, December 17, at the Johnson Medical Center at Windsor Park Manor. She was born on October 16, 1917 in Evanston, IL to Moses and Amy McDaniel. She moved to Wheaton in 1927 and to Windsor Park in 1991.
After earning her B.A. and M.A. from Wheaton College, Beth worked in publishing - Encyclopedia Britannica, Hitchcock Publishing and twenty seven years writing and editing curriculums for Scripture Press Publishing Co.
She joined College Church in Wheaton in 1935 under the ministry of Evan Welsh, where she served for fifty years in Chistian Education.
Beth enjoyed travel, photography, reading, music and writing. She led many home Bible studies.
Beth is survived by her sister, Carol Lewis of Carol Stream, sister-in-law, Thelma McDaniel of Culver, IN, one niece, Jacquelin Pippel, and nephews, James (Diana) Lewis, Charles (Sally) Lewis of Wheaton and Stephen (Cindy) of Plymouth, IN. She was preceded in death by her brother, Malcolm McDaniel of Culver, IN.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 5 at 1:30 p.m. at Windsor Park Manor, 120 Windsor Park Dr. at North Ave., (just west of Gary Ave.) in Carol Stream.
Interment will will be held privately at Wheaton Cemetery.
