Mary T. Markese, age 69,a lifelong resident of Melrose Park, died on Monday, September 25 at the Elmhurst Extended Care Center. She was born in Melrose Park on May 31, 1937.
She worked as a secretary for Jewel Foods office in Melrose Park and worked for many years as the church secretary at Melrose Park Christian Assembly (now New Life Community Church).
Mary is survived by her husband of 44 years, Paul, two children, Cari (Thomas) McKee of Oak Park and Paul Jr. (Beth) Markese of Wheaton, two granddaughters, Hannah McKee and Grace Markese, her mother, Englesina Milani of Melrose Park, her sisters of Caroline (Ed) Loss, Gloria (Oscar) Lyko, and Nancy (the late Nick) Fabiani, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Macroni and her brother, John Milani.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 28 from 4 to 9 p.m. at New Life Community Church, 2001 W. Division, Melrose Park, where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 am. Interment will follow at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.
