Mary Jane Macht, age 89, a resident of Wheaton for more than 60 years; died Sunday, December 27, at Clare Oaks Health Care Center in Bartlett, IL. She was born December 11, 1920 in Green Bay, WI.

Mary was a waitress at the Wheaton Restaurant in the early 1950's. She later worked at the Carl Sandburg Elementary School for over 20 years as a lunch supervisor. She enjoyed long walks at the Morton Arboretum and in recent years visiting the Arlington Racetrack. She especially enjoyed vacationing in Green Bay, WI. She loved being with family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert; her four children, Kevin (Young-Ju) Macht of Oxnard, CA, Robert (Lisa) Macht of Port Orchard, WA, Jeannine (John) Adams of Winfield, Holly (Ken) Channon of Wheaton, IL; thirteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, George; and her two sisters, Betty, and Rita.

A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the time of a memorial service at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, January 11th, at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N, Main St., in Wheaton, IL. Interment will be private.
