Mary Kathryn "Katy" McFarland, age 91, a resident of Windsor Park in Carol Stream, IL, died Friday, June 14, 2013, in Windsor's Johnson Health Care Center. She was born in Hartford, KY, on January 28, 1922.

Mrs. McFarland was a music teacher in Kentucky, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Illinois. For over fifty years, she served as a choir director in Baptist churches in Missouri and Illinois. She was a long-time resident of Clarendon Hills, IL, until she moved to Windsor Park in Carol Stream. She was a quilter, calligrapher, crafter, and oil color artist.

She is survived by two sons, Tom (Lisa) McFarland, and Hugh McFarland; one daughter, Beth (Randy) McFarland Wilson; seven grandchildren, Tom, Allison, Daniel, David, Rebekah, Brynne, and Steven; and three great granddaughters, Atali, Danielle, and Mackenzie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron S. "Bryan" McFarland.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, from 4-7 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, IL. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Windsor Park, 124 Windsor Park Dr., in Carol Stream, IL, with the Rev. Bryan Kletzing officiating. A private interment will be held at the Clarendon Hills Cemetery.
