Martha was born October 12, 1929 in Springfield, Illinois to Carl & Grace Tolliver.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years Lawrence David Hurst; their son Larry Hurst; and grandchildren Jim Hurst, Tonya Hurst and kids, Amanda Kressman and kids.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Marilyn Hurst, twin sister Ruth Fliehler, and sister June Schultz.

Mary Martha Tolliver married Lawrence David Hurst on December 1, 1951. Two months after marriage, Dave was drafted into the U.S. Army and stationed in Germany. In February 1953, Martha was diagnosed with diabetes. She moved to Wheaton to live with her parents. She worked as a secretary for Hitchcock Publishing in Wheaton, then as a secretary for The Sword of the Lord Publishing House in Wheaton, and finally as a secretary for Wheaton College. Martha called the Wheaton Bible Church home until the 1980's, after which she called The Evangelical Free Church home until moving to Fort Myers Florida in 2001, where she called Shell Point Village Church home.

Martha will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Gardens West in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois where both her parents, Carl & Grace Tolliver, rest and next to her daughter Marilyn Sue Hurst, and her great-grandson George Matthew Hurst.

A visitation will be held Saturday, March 14, 2020, at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, Illinois from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 Noon. Following the visitation, relatives and friends are invited to meet directly at Chapel Hill Gardens West at 12:30 p.m. for a graveside service.
