Mary Grguras passed away on June 7, 2020 at Beacon Hill in Lombard, Illinois.  She was 91 years old.

Mary was born in Spahici, Croatia to Ivan and Marija Spahic, the 8 ^th of 10 children.  She married Nikola Grguras in April 1950, and her daughter Ana was born in December.  She moved with her family to the United States in 1953 where they settled in Lincoln Park, Michigan.  In 2012 she moved to Illinois to be closer to her granddaughter.

Mary always had a twinkle in her eye and an infectious whole-body laugh that caused anyone near her to want to join in.  She was quick to share and help others when able, especially her family and neighbors.  Mary loved to cook and bake for people, especially food from her native Croatia.  She was excellent at sewing and crocheting, and she had a true green thumb, growing a huge garden with vegetables to share with her neighborhood and a backyard lined with amazing rose bushes.  Mary's true passion though was for her family, and she made a point to introduce them to everyone she encountered.  Mary had such a joyful, kind, and compassionate heart and will be greatly missed.

Mary is survived by her son-in-law Roger (Cindy) Lemmen, granddaughter Marissa (John) Rakes and her great-grandchildren Samuel, Ana, and Lydia.  She is preceded in death by her parents Ivan and Marija, her 9 brothers and sisters, her husband Nikola Grguras, her daughter Ana Lemmen, and her great-granddaughter Abigail Rakes.
