Mary E. English (nee O'Keefe) 90, entered eternal life in Wheaton, IL after a brief illness.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was raised in Cranford, NJ, by her loving parents John & Grace O'Keefe. She graduated from Holy Trinity High School in Westfield and Berkeley Secretarial School in East Orange. While working at Alcoa in Manhattan, she met her future husband, Edward English.
They raised their family in Berkeley Heights and were parishioners at Church of The Little Flower Catholic Church, where she was a member of the parish council and lecturer. They retired to homes in Naples and Sun City Center, FL, where she ran the bereavement ministry at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Mary and Ed enjoyed traveling, visiting grandchildren, and entertaining family and friends visiting them in Florida.
She was predeceased by her husband Edward English, son James, and her parents John and Grace O'Keefe. She leaves behind her loving children and their families, Edward (Marianne) English, Ellen (Jeffrey) Dolan, Kevin (Katie) English, John (Barbara) English, Christopher (Jennifer) English, and Robert (Erica) English. Mary's pride and joy were her grandchildren Caitlin Dolan, Meghan (Eric) Pond, Sean English, Brian (Marina) Dolan, Rebecca (Sean) Lawrence, Colin English, Sarah English, Erin English, Aidan English, Lucy English, Patrick Genovese, Meaghan Genovese, Lindsay Genovese and Michael Genovese. Proud great grandmother to Emmett Pond and August Lawrence. She is also survived by her sister Grace (Jim) Ryan and her daughters Tracey and Christine Fritz.
A Catholic Mass will be held at The Church of The Little Flower, Berkeley Heights, NJ, on Friday, December 19th at 10:00AM. Internment will immediately follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia and will be private.
