Mary Ann Burk, age 87, a 50 year resident of Glen Ellyn, IL, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 4, 2023.  She was born May 26, 1936 in Streator, Illinois.

Mary Ann grew up in Streator where she graduated from Streator High School.  She attended Southern Illinois University and went on to graduate from the University of Illinois. Through friends, she met Kenneth Burk.  They were married on June 11, 1960.  Early in their marriage, she worked as a teacher in Streator and Grand Ridge, IL.  They moved to Glen Ellyn in 1973, where she has been an active parishioner of St. Petronille Catholic Church.

She was a creative person who enjoyed gardening and painting.  She enjoyed reading mystery novels, listening to Bulls basketball games and travel.  Most of all she loved being with her family.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Kenneth, and her two sons, David (Tricia) Burk and Kevin (Jennifer) Burk.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, George and her sisters Louise and Delores.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton. A funeral mass will follow at 1:00 p.m. at St. Petronille Catholic Church.
