Mary K. Brown, age 80, a resident of Wheaton, died at home on Monday, June 5, 2007. She was born on February 9, 1927 to Harry and Gertrude Newell.

She was raised in Hutchensville, Illinois where she graduated from high school. After moving to Springfield she met Donald Brown and they were married in March of 1950. They moved to Wheaton in 1967. She was primarily a homemaker who loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart and helped in raising all of them through out the years. Her love for her family included caring for her mother and her husband through lengthy illnesses. Mary was a very humble woman who loved the Lord and always had an open heart and ear to listen to anyone who came to her.

Mary is survived by her son, Donn (June) Brown of Adams, Wisconsin and daughter, Susan (Kurt) Muehlfelt of Wheaton, five grandchildren, Stephanie Brown, Kristin (Nate) Cuellar, and Cory, Kile, and Sarah Muehlfelt and her first great-grandchild is expected in October.

She was preceded in death by her husband on June 5, 1988, her parents, her grandson, Christopher Brown, her brother, Harry Newell Jr. and an infant brother.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 8, from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St in Wheaton, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Don Leo officiating. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery.
