Obituary

Martin Su, age 79, a resident of Wheaton, and formerly of Addison, died Wednesday, January 4, at home. He was born January 6, 1926, in Shanghai, China.

Martin was the former owner of Chinese Gift Wholesale, Inc., a business that he built from a small gifts supplier into a national floral wholesale company. He was an active tennis player, golfer, and bridge player. In his later years, Martin became an excellent cook who loved to entertain family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Emily; his two daughters, Lenora (Phil Cerney) Su, and Annette (Kirk) Wilson; five grandchildren, Gina and Deborah Francis, and Christina, Jamie, and Chad Wilson; three sisters, Mary Liang, Irene Ullrich, and Louise Lee; and many loving in-laws, nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of a Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 0S233 Church St. in Winfield. Interment will be private at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
