Dr. Martin G. Stuck, 91, of Indian Head Park, IL. passed away peacefully on October 7, 2016 at home, surrounded by his family.
Dr. Stuck was born in Zion, Illinois to Gerhard and Elizabeth Stuck on May 12, 1925. Upon returning from 3 years of service in the United States Army during WW II in the South Pacific, he attended Wheaton College. It was there that he met the love of his life, Lorraine Reiff. They were married June 5, 1951 in Spokane, Washington. They both graduated from Wheaton College. Dr. Stuck then graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary, Th.M., Washington State University, M.A., Pasadena City College, M.A. and California Graduate School of Theology, Ph.D.
Dr. Stuck pastored churches in Washington, California, Iowa and Illinois. His career as a pastor spanned 63 years and 8 congregations. His last years were spent as an Associate Pastor at Oak Lawn Bible Church. Dr. Stuck was known for his spiritual wisdom, warmth, approachability and encouraging words. His legacy is a Biblical, purposeful, expository and challenging preaching presence in the pulpit, with a willingness to spend time one on one with others as they shared their needs.
Dr. Stuck is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lorraine (Lorry), son Mark Stuck (Lori) of Sioux City, IA, son Dr. Gary Stuck (Pamela) of Indian Head Park, IL, son Dr. Rodney Stuck (Rhonda) of Palatine, IL, daughter Marcia Thompson (Don) of South Elgin, IL, sister Roberta (Richard) Swanson, Naples, Fl., and brother Richard Stuck, Van Nuys, CA.
Grandchildren:
Jason Stuck, Nate Stuck, Ryan Stuck, Sarah Stuck, Allison Stuck, Branden Stuck, Rachel Brad, Justin Stuck, Emylee Thompson, Clay Thompson and Elysse Thompson.
Great Grand Children:
Ashleigh, Blake, Madelyn, Luke, Parker, Cooper, Mia, Madison and Jace Stuck.
A visitation with family present will take place Tuesday, October 11th from 4 pm to 8 pm at
