Martha
Rosebraugh
December 7, 1924 – February 3, 2022
After a long life filled with joy and love, Martha Rosebraugh passed away peacefully on February 3, 2022. She was a well-known and long-time resident of Wheaton, Illinois.
Martha was born in Knoxville, Iowa on December 7, 1924, moving to Des Moines in High School. After graduation she attended nursing school and earned her RN certification. In Des Moines she met her future husband, Robert Rosebraugh. Following a courtship filled with dancing and laughter, they embarked on an incredible marriage that spanned 74 years. In 1957 the couple moved to Wheaton, Illinois where Bob pursued his career as a pilot with United Air Lines. Martha was involved in community projects and conquered the game of golf at St Charles Country Club where she was ascended to Chair of Ladies Golf. She also began a stunning career as a Bridge expert – combining incredible card skills with the luck of a true gameswoman. Her champion skills extended from the early days in Wheaton to her final weeks in which she and her Bridge partners continued to win matches at Wyndemere Senior Living. In addition to lifelong Bridge partners, Bob and Martha traveled the world together, returning annually to their favorite destination - Maui, Hawaii - where they spent many memorable Februarys with family and friends. Martha had a gift for life, always saying the right words and exuding positivity. Her 97 years on the planet were not enough for all those who loved her.
Martha is preceded in death by her husband Robert Rosebraugh. She is survived by her son Bob Rosebraugh and wife Melinda, Wheaton residents, daughter Linda Rosebraugh Neill and husband George of Olathe, KS. She will be greatly missed by her four grandchildren: Tiffany, George, Matthew and Christie as well as six great-grandchildren who were all lucky enough to truly get to know their incredible great grandmother.
Visitation will be held at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, Illinois, on Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 11am. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream of the service will be available through this link:
