Marsha L. Meyer, age 53, a longtime resident of Wheaton, died at home on Wednesday, March 1. She was born on March 14, 1952 in Toledo, Ohio to William and Shirley Tower. She was raised in Temperance, MI.
Marsha was a graduate of Wheaton College (1974). She married Ed Meyer on August 10, 1974. She taught elementary school at First Baptist Christian School in Downers Grove until 1977. She worked as an Aid in the Wheaton Public School System at Longfellow, Lincoln and Edison schools for nine years. From 1995 until 2005 she worked as a manager at Twice Is Nice resale shop in Carol Stream.
She was an active member of College Church in Wheaton where she was heavily involved with Children's Ministries including Sunday School (Superintendent), Pioneer Girls, Vacation Bible School (Director), Christian Education Board and Nursery. She also served on the Building Committee, Deaconess Board (Chair), and was actively involved with Women's Bible Study as a small group leader and program coordinator. Marsha also participated in a short term mission trip to Indonesia in 2000.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Edward, two children, Paul of Laurel, MD and Sarah Linnea (Jon) Taylor of Wheaton, her parents, two sisters, Amy Tower and Jane (Randy) Westhoven, and two brothers, Randy (Angie) Tower and Glenn (Beth) Tower.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 4 from 3 until 8 p.m. in the Commons at College Church in Wheaton, Washington and Seminary St. in Wheaton. A memorial service will be held on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary of College Church.
Interment will be held privately at Wheaton Cemetery.
