Obituary

Marlon E. Brooks passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, after a valiant and fierce battle with cancer.  He is survived by his adoring Mother and Stepfather Onnie and Robert Duhme, his beloved children, Jordan Brooks and Kelsey Brooks, his sisters Lezlie Greene (Gaston), Lauren Thurman and his former wife Della Brooks.  He was preceded in death by his father Reuben Brooks Jr.

Marlon was a 3-sport athlete at Glenbard North high school and attended Eastern Illinois University, where he majored in Education and also went on to receive a double Masters.  He then returned to Glenbard North to teach and coach basketball for the next thirty years.  Along with coaching, Marlon was a talented photographer and ran a successful photography business, Photo Sport, which specialized in sports photography.  Marlon was a man of few words but when he spoke, one tended to listen as his words were thoughtful and insightful.Marlon loved his family, friends and his life, he will be greatly missed by those who were lucky enough to know him.

Services for Marlon Brooks will be private.
