Mark J. Pierce, age 58, a resident of Carol Stream, IL, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois. He was born May 13, 1959 in Brighton, Massachusetts to Joseph and Joan Pierce.

Mark grew up in Medford, New Jersey and graduated high school in Carmel, Indiana. He attended Indiana University and graduated with a B.S. in Finance. He worked in various jobs in finance on the east coast. After being transferred to Chicago, he met Kathie Sheen and they were married on August 8, 1992.

After their child was diagnosed with diabetes, Mark became involved in Diabetes education with Inventive Pharmaceutical. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was very involved with his children's education. He was Vice-President of Glenbard North High School Music Boosters.

He enjoyed music, sports and non-fiction literature.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Pierce, two children, Colin and Kara, and his siblings, Lisa (Curt) Ferguson, Kelly (Brian) Sheppard, and Jeffrey (Michelle) Pierce. He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Joan Pierce.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 3-8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
