Mark Davisson Inskeep, 77, died peacefully at home on January 8th. He had been a 30-year resident of West Chicago before moving to Wheaton in 2007.
He was born on May 16, 1931 in Salt Lake City, UT and grew up in several parts of the country before settling in Saddle River, NJ. He earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering at Cornell University, and later an M.S. at Stevens Institute in Hoboken, NJ.
He worked at multiple locations in the eastern U.S. before moving to Illinois to take a position at Amoco/BP. He was employed for more than 20 years at the Amoco/BP research facility in Naperville as a chemical engineer.
As a young man, he was proud to play clarinet in the Cornell Big Red Marching Band and enjoyed skiing and hiking. After retirement, he took part in the Amocare Retiree Volunteer Organization in Naperville. He also enjoyed reading history and staying current on scientific periodicals.
He leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Miriam Inskeep (nee Gruber), his daughters Mary Helen Inskeep of St. Paul, MN and Catherine (Adam) Aulick of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren Havoc, Persephone, and Hawthorne Aulick; his brother George Esler (Kathryn) Inskeep of Kilmarnock, VA; and his cousin Marilyn (John) Fischer of Monticello, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mark McKinley Inskeep and Helen Esler Inskeep of Saddle River, NJ.
Monday January 12th, from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 PM there is an evening visitation at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, in Wheaton, IL. On Tuesday
from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M., a visitation at the funeral home is planned prior to an 11:00 A.M. procession to the graveside for a service at Wheaton Cemetery, 1209 S. Warrenville Rd. in Wheaton.
