It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Mark Hosteland. Mark, age 79, a resident of Round Lake Beach, IL passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories.

Born on August 29, 1944, in Red Wing Minnesota to Leslie & Helen Hosteland. Mark lived a life filled with passion and joy. He moved from Red Wing to Wheaton IL in 1967.  Where he met the love of his life Betsy. They were married January 18, 1969, and spent 52 years loving and caring for each other until her passing in September 2021. Besides his number one priority of being a husband and father, Mark had a passion for fishing and golf. Those that knew him knew that his priorities were faith, family and work and those priorities came before golf or fishing.

Faith played a central role in Mark's life, providing him with strength, guidance, and a moral compass. His faith was unwavering, and he imparted the values of love, kindness, and compassion to those around him. His faith was a source of comfort and inspiration to his family and friends.

Above all, Mark was a loving and caring man who cherished his role as a husband, father, and grandfather. His family was the center of his world, and he dedicated himself to creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. The memories of family gatherings, celebrations, and shared moments will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Let us remember him for the joy he brought into our lives, the lessons he imparted, and the love that continues to resonate in our hearts.

He is survived by his son John (Christine) Hosteland; his three grandchildren: Andrew, Emily & Ashley; his sisters Jane (Jack) Cook & Carolyn Wahrman; his sister-in-law Margo Cook; his nephews Christopher Wahrman & Henry (Charis) Cook and niece Zoey (Michael) Ferrari.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Betsy.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187.
