Mark L. Funk, age 71, a resident of Glendale Heights, Illinois, passed away on January 31, 2026, at Glen Oaks Hospital in Glendale Heights. He was born on May 31, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, to Larry and Jean Funk.

Mark had a true love for growing things and spent countless hours tending to his vegetable garden. Known for his green thumb, he took great pride in caring for his plants and watching them thrive. He was also gifted at fixing things—a skilled and dependable handyman who could tackle just about any project. In his spare time, Mark enjoyed experimenting with the guitar and was a devoted fan of the Grateful Dead.

Mark is survived by his brother, Martin (Sheila) Funk of Glendale Heights, and his stepsister, Jennifer Lester. He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Jean Funk; his brother, David Funk; his half brother, Matt Funk; and his stepbrother, Joseph Funk.

Services for Mark will be held privately.
