Obituary

Marjorie Rose Walls, nee Clark, age 76, a resident of Geneva, IL, went to be with the Lord on November 29, 2010 after a courageous five year battle with cancer. She was born on June 16, 1934 to R. Clifford and Lura Clark in Ft. Wayne, IN.

Marj graduated from Wheaton Community High School in 1952 and attended Wheaton College where she met Richard Walls. They were married on August 27, 1954. They moved to Geneva in 1955 and joined the First Baptist Church, where she was an active member and ran the AWANA club.

Marj was a longtime staff member at the Morton Arboretum, where she worked in the Children's Residence Program. She had a passion for bird-watching and loved spending summers at the family cottage at Bethany Beach, Michigan, where she established the nature trail.

She is survived by her husband, Richard, three children, David (Mary Ann) Walls of Naperville, Timothy (Wilma) Walls of St. Charles, and Julie (Dave) Quandt of Grayslake, eight grandchildren, Matthew (Mako), Marc, Samantha, and Rachel Walls, Brennan and Kathleen Walls, and Lura and Andy Quandt, two great-grandchildren, Taiga and Ricky, one sister, Molly Van Norman of Wheaton and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Friday,December 3, from 3-9 P.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, IL. A memorial service will be held on Saturday,December 4, at 11:30 A.M. at First Baptist Church of Geneva, East Campus, 2300 South Street, Geneva, IL 60134. Close friends are welcome to join the family for a graveside service on Saturday at 10 A.M. at Wheaton Cemetery.

In her memory memorial gifts may be directed to First Baptist Church of Geneva, Morton Arboretum, or CNS Hospice in lieu of flowers.
