Obituary

Marjorie Louise Sveen passed into the arms of her Savior in complete peace on Monday, February 5, 2018 in Ft. Myers, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Olga Lindberg, a sister Ruth and a brother Carl. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Donald, a son David (Kriste), a daughter Nancy (Mark) Jackson. She was the grateful and loving grandmother of grandchildren Christopher, Jessica, Jenna (Sam) Gyorfi, Brett (fiancé Jessica), Lindsay, Carl, Laine, and Daniel (fiancé Amy).

Marge was born August 2, 1929 in Buffalo, Minnesota. After graduating from Buffalo High School, she attended Augsburg College for two years then transferred to the University of Minnesota and graduated with a BA degree in Education. Marge loved teaching and taught fourth grade in Mound and Robbinsdale, MN.

On June 11, 1955, she married Donald E. Sveen who was serving in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at Lowry AFB, Denver, CO. She again taught fourth grade during the year that Don completed his enlistment. Marge and Don returned to Minneapolis and over the next 13 years raised two children David and Nancy. In 1969 the family moved to Wheaton, Illinois.

Marge will be remembered by all who knew her as a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Her love and compassion for people had no end. She was a special person who was an encourager, and always made others feel good when they talked with her. She loved music, playing the piano, traveling with friends and family, playing a hand of Bridge and shopping with her daughter and daughter-in-law. Marge had a witty sense of humor, and loved to tell Swedish jokes. She treasured time with friends over a cup of coffee, and preferred desserts to entrees. Marge was active in the Glen Ellyn Evangelical Covenant Church serving in various leadership roles and taught Sunday school for many years.

Marge had a contagious zest for life and will truly be missed by family and friends.
