Marjorie Michaelson-Smith, age 89, a resident of Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream, died Monday, June 18, at Windsor's Johnson Healthcare Center. She was born February 27, 1918 in Chicago.
Marjorie graduated from Wheaton College (IL) in 1939. She was a member of South Park Church in Park Ridge, IL, where she was involved in many church activities. She was an accomplished musician, an avid reader, and a member of PEO. She enjoyed life as a homemaker and greatly loved her family.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Smith; her two sons, Ronald (Jan) Michaelson of Springfield, IL, and Rev. Wesley (Rev. Karin) Granberg-Michaelson of Grand Rapids, MI; her daughter, Marcia (Ralph) Berke of Park Ridge, IL; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her brother, Carl Gundersen, Jr.; and two sisters, Gloria Buscarello, and Valerie Heidlauf.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clifford Michaelson; her parents, Carl and Valborg Gundersen; and two brothers, Kenneth and Melvin.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 23, at 1:30 P.M. at Windsor Park Manor, Windsor Park Dr. at North Ave., (just west of Gary Ave.) in Carol Stream, with the Revs. Wesley and Karin Granberg-Michaelson officiating.
Interment will be held privately at Town of Maine Cemetery, in Park Ridge, IL.
