Marion P. Thorne, age 85, a resident of West Chicago, and formerly of Genoa, Sycamore, and Wheaton, died Saturday, August 27, at home. She was born September 21, 1919 in Rock Springs, WI, formerly known as Abelman, WI.
In 1938, Marion married William F. Thorne, the owner of Thorne Electric in Wheaton. She was a member of Wheaton Bible Church. While in Genoa she was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Senior Bible Study Group.
She is survived by nine children, Judith (Jim) Perry of Sycamore, Roberta Bottemly of Temple, TX, Paul H. (Lolita) of Elburn, David (Josephine) of West Chicago, Mike (Judy) of Elburn, Mary (Richard) Kuhn of Sycamore, John (Kathy) of West Chicago, Kenneth (Cindy) of West Chicago, and Linda (Roger) Krefting of St. Charles; 26 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and her sister, Elaine Thieding of Lonsdale, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William in 1984; and her son, Tim in 1995.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August, 30, from 5 P.M. to 9 P.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, where a service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery.
