Marion E. Olson, age 84, a resident of Rockford,Illinois and Naples, Florida, died suddenly on Thursday, September 14 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Marion was born in Ashley, PA on April 8, 1922, moving to the Austin area of Chicago in 1926. She attended Austin High School and then took classes at Moody Bible Institute. In 1932 she and her parents moved to an apartment across the street from her future husband. In 1939, while still in high school they began going together and were married New Years Eve 1943 when he was in the service. After discharge in 1946 they lived in Austin where they lovingly raised two sons, Robert and Richard. They then moved to Westchester where the boys grew up.
Marion was a warm and gracious women and will be greatly missed by her husband, family and friends. She was a member of the Wheaton Evangelical Free Church and attended the First Baptist Church of Naples, Florida.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Elmer, two sons, Bob (Judy) of Wheaton and Rich (Sue) of Wheaton, seven grandchildren, Evan (Christine), Brig, Kyle, Karly, Drew, Dane and Lars, and one great-granddaughter, Sienna, and her brother, Arthur (Frances) Jones of Rockford.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Martha Jones.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 17 at 4:00 p.m. at Wheaton Bible Church, Main and Franklin St. in Wheaton with Rev. Ted Olson officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. Interment will be held at Glen Oak Cemetery in Hillside.
