Marilyn Rowe Packer, 85, died July 22 in Batavia. She was born December 24, 1923 in Oak Park to Arthur and Gertrude Rowe. She grew up in Oak Park and Elmhurst and she attended Elmhurst College. She married and moved to Louisville, KY. She returned to live in Wheaton in 1962. She was an office manager for Doctors Michaels,West, and Bartucci in Elmhurst until her retirement. She was an avid animal lover, she enjoyed collecting antiques, and Christmas was her favorite holiday. She was loved by her family and friends for her great generosity and kindness. She is survived by her three sons; Scott of Yorkville, Gary of Minneapolis, MN, John (Janice) Shallcross of St. Charles; her grandchildren; Bronwyn (Michael), Brian (Stephanie), Travis, Stephanie, Sandra, Evan, Jarett, and Jason; great-grandchildren Claire and Henry, and her sister Janet Rowe. She was preceded in death by her husbands Raymond Shallcross, and Jay Packer. Services Thursday, July 30th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton.
