Marilyn S. Guild, age 75, a resident of Wheaton for 50 years, and originally of Glen Ellyn, died Monday, August 16, at Central DuPage hospital in Winfield. She was born January 29, 1929 in Geneva, IL.

Marilyn spent over 20 years as a volunteer with the Central DuPage Hospital Auxiliary, serving first with the Wheaton Unit in the 1980's as President, as Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, and also as the Treasurer. Then in the early 1990's she served as the Fall Benefit Chairman for the CDH Auxiliary, raising thousands of dollars for the hospital. Later she served at the hospital's "Coffee Corner" as Treasurer. She was also a member of the Wheaton (EN) Chapter of the PEO where she worked on the programming committee for continuing education, and also on the Ways and Means Committee. She was active in the Wheaton Garden Club, particularly helping with the publicity for the club; as well as active in the House and Garden Club of Wheaton serving as President. She was also active in the Wheaton Drama Club.

She is survived by her two children, John (Maira) of Lake Zurich, and Susan Guild (Clifford) Sweetra of Evergreen, CO; and two grandsons, Alec and Andrew.

She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Thelma, and Phyllis.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 18, from 3-5:30 & 6:30-9 PM, at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 19, at 2:00 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton, 715 N. Carlton Ave., Wheaton, IL 60187.
