Marilyn R. Cook, age 95, a resident of Windsor Park in Carol Stream, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023. She was born October 4, 1927 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Oscar and Stella Remsberg.
Marilyn was very proud of her four boys and welcomed her four daughters-in-law with open arms and great joy. She loved her growing family and would visit whenever possible. She had a unique relationship with each grandchild and looked forward to pictures and stories of each great grandchild. She was always proud of her family heritage and of growing up in Minnesota and reminisced about relatives and friends and small town picnics. She loved traveling, vacations at the lake, social times with friends and entertaining. She was a devoted member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church, was active in the Wheaton Chapter of The Infant Welfare Society for a number of years, and was always a willing helper. She was loved by many and returned that love in kind.
She is survived by her four sons: Richard "Rick", Jr., Bob (Sue), Paul (Meg), and Brian (Jackie); her twelve grandchildren: Jenny (Bruce) Wells & Alison (Joe) Bradford, Molly (Erik) Karlsson, Matt & Patrick, Casey (Ben) Raevsky, Dan, & Brad, and Katie, Betsy (Ryan) Wilkinson & Peter (Alaina); her nine great-grandchildren; and her niece Lynn Kowal.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 Years, Richard "Dick" Bruce Cook; her daughter in law Kathy Cook; her grandson Joe Cook; and her brother Dr. John (the late Audrey) Remsberg.
A memorial service will be held at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 29W260 Batavia Road, Warrenville, Illinois 60555 on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private at Wheaton Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be directed to the Windsor Park Benevolence Fund, Immanuel Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice.
