Marie "Lou" Sanderson, age 82, a resident of Belvidere and formerly of Wood Dale and Bensenville, went to be with her lord and savior on Friday, February 22, at the Kindred Hospital in Sycamore. She was born on September 21, 1925 in Chicago to Lowry and Marie Hedstrom.

Lou was a graduate of Wheaton Academy. Early in her career she worked with her father at Western Electric. For many years she worked as a medical assistant for Dr. Bruno Beinoris in Wood Dale and retired at age 75. She was a longtime Amway distributor. Her constant smile was her trademark. She enjoyed crosswords, puzzles, Christmas, and the Cubs. She had many good friends.

She is survived by three children, Gary (Roberta) Sanderson of Janesville, WI, Mark (Sylvia) Sanderson of Belvidere and Julie (Laura Swieck) Sanderson of Berwyn, six grandchildren, Maggie and Becky Sanderson, Carrie (Chris) Becker, Andy Spencer, and Ryan and Matthew Sanderson, and four siblings, Robert (Ellen) Hedstrom of Wheaton, Ruth Noble of PA, Ione (John) Hensley of Hampshire, and Lowry "Butch" (Carolyn) Hedstrom of NY.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Jeanne Thompson and Joan Rexilius.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 29, from 4 until 9 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace-Gospel Fellowship, 4 North 220 Route 83 (Frontage Road), Bensenville, IL 60106, with a time of visitation before the service beginning at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be private.
