Marie Eiznhamer, age 80, of Carol Stream, died at 5:30 a.m., on Monday, Jul. 15, 2013, at her residence in Carol Stream. She was born on Oct. 7, 1932, in Thayer, IL, the daughter of the late Gus and Helen Stropnik. She married Al Eiznhamer on November 2, 1957 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2001. She is survived by her son: Dave Eiznhamer and wife Cori, of Bloomingdale; and two grandchildren: Lisa Turyna and husband Scott of St. Charles, and Joel Ebert of Chicago. Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
In addition to her vocations of daughter, wife, mom, and grandma, Marie spent many years employed as an office manager/bookkeeper. She was a lifelong Lutheran, attending school at St. Matthew in Chicago and serving as a member of several other congregations throughout her life. Marie was an avid reader who consumed hundreds of books through the years. She was a lover of dogs experiencing the joy of several in her life. Most recently she excelled in the role of Gramma to Yadi who will miss his visits to Windsor Park very much. Marie was a one-of-a-kind, irreplaceable wife, mom, and grandma whose loss will be felt by many. While her family mourns her death, they rejoice in the fact that she now rests in the Lord awaiting the reward won for her.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church.
Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes;
Shine through the gloom, and point me to the skies.
Heav'n's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee;
In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.
