Marie Carsley left this world on April 8th, 2015, as a result of natural causes. She was born June 8, 1917 in Chicago, IL. She was a longtime resident of Villa Park and Carol Stream, IL, but also spent the period of 1975-1984 living in Leesburg, Florida with her husband, Charles. While enjoying the sun in Leesburg she served as social director for her community.
The oldest of ten siblings, Marie was employed at Borg-Warner from 1950-1975. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her parents, and six of her siblings. Marie is survived by three of her sisters: Theresa Vollmer, Lorraine Chalberg, and Eleanor Holzer.
Marie's memory also lives on in her daughter Joan LeMay of Wheaton, Joan's children Maggie Duffy and Charles LeMay, and their spouses, Steve and Leigh, respectively. During Maggie and Charles' upbringing Marie played an integral role, spending day after day helping to raise them both. She lives on in many fond memories held close by Maggie and Charles. She is also survived by her four great-grandchildren, Maggie's children: Jacob, Andrew, Haley, and Zachary. Marie was a very active part of their lives as well and will be greatly missed. More than anything, Marie will be missed by her family because of her everlasting sense of humor.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 17th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton. According to her wishes, Marie's ashes will be buried in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Leesburg, Florida, at a later date chosen by her family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marie's name are welcomed at Meadowbrook Manor, 720 Raymond Dr., Naperville, IL 60563, where she spent the last years of her time with us.
