Obituary

Marianna (Schultz) Sanderford, age 93, widow of John Robert Sanderford passed peacefully and was united with her Lord on March 4, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 23, 1923 in Iserlohn, Westphalia, Germany and was the daughter of the late Erich and Johanna (Kemna) Schultz.

She came to the U.S. in 1927 and grew up in Islip, New York. Following World War II, Mom was a stewardess for Colonial Airlines where she met dad and married in 1948. Mom was a loving mother who instilled in us her lifetime values and habits. In 1961 she found fulfillment in the Lord to whom she was a faithful follower. After she graduated from Southern Connecticut University with a masters' degree in Library Science at age 57, she moved to Illinois and became Corporate Librarian for Motorola. Upon retirement, she filmed and produce "A Call to Wholeness" that was aired weekly on Wheaton Community TV that delivered the message of Pastor Joseph Mahady of Calvary Fellowship. Besides loving her Lord, she loved life and being with friends and family, and enjoyed flowers, birds, cooking and painting.

She is survived by her daughter Marianna Stack of Springfield, MA and her son Robert Sanderford and his wife Janice of Bristol, CT. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Cassandra Bull, Chelsea Christenson, Erich and Kristin Sanderford; her great grandchildren Mark and Miranda Bull and Savannah Christenson as well as many nieces and nephews. She will also be deeply missed by the loving members of her Church fellowship. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her sister Johanna (Schultz) Gahtan and her brother Dr. Erich Schultz.

Her family will receive friends for calling hours on Thursday, March 9, from 5-8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 North Main Street, Wheaton, IL. Visitation will continue on Friday March 10 from 9 a.m. until the start of a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home followed by burial at Wheaton Cemetery.
