Marian M.
Herrington
February 23, 1932 – August 14, 2020
Marian M. Herrington, age 88, a resident of Wheaton, went to be with the Lord suddenly on Friday, August 14, 2020. She was born February 23, 1932 in Verdigre, Nebraska to Harold and Marie Tenney.
Marian grew up on a farm outside of Verdigre and graduated from high school in Creighton, Nebraska. After high school she attended Emmaus Bible School in Chicago where she met Donald Herrigton. They were married on May 21, 1951. While Don served in the Korean War, Marian moved back home to Nebraska where she had her first son. After Don's service they lived in Creighton and Columbus, Nebraska, and then in Des Moines, Iowa. In 1991, they moved to Overland Park, Kansas where they lived until retirement in 2003, when they moved to Wheaton, Illinois to live with their daughter.
Marian enjoyed people. She was anxious to help and enjoyed doing things for others. She was gifted at encouraging, ministering and praying for others. Food was important to her and she loved to sit around the table and talk with family and friends. Often after church she would entertain friends for Sunday dinner. Her faith was central to who she was and she was active at Warrenville Bible Chapel.
She is survived by her husband, Donald, her children, Mark (Margaret) Herrington of Indianpolis, Indiana, David (Bonnie) Herrington of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Ann (Tom) Culver of Wheaton, 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, as well as her sister, Carolyn (Norman) Doerr. She was preceded in death by her parents.
