A memorial service for Marian E. Anderson, age 90, will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, October 28th, at Waters Edge Bible Church , 209 S. Oakwood Avenue, West Chicago. The Reverend Gary Kirst and the Reverend Jayson York will lead a service of praise and thanksgiving.

Born February 2, 1927, in Salina, Kansas, she died Monday, October 23, 2017, at Beacon Hill Retirement Community in Lombard.

Mrs. Anderson was active in church life as a member of the choir, playing piano and handbells, teaching Sunday School, serving as a deaconess, and being a Stephen Minister.

Mrs. Anderson earned her masters of nursing degree from the University of Minnesota in 1948, and worked as a Nursing Supervisor at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, Illinois.

Marian had an intense love for her family and in turn was deeply loved by those who are saddened by her death, including her children, Gregg Warren (Sandra) Anderson of West Chicago, and Kurt Roger (Karen) Anderson of Montgomery; grandchildren, Raechel (Peter) Dressler, Lauren (Scott) McClain, and Eric (Heidi) Anderson, and Kristen (David) Scoggan and David (Sara) Anderson; thirteen great grandchildren; two brothers; nieces and nephews; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren E. Anderson, in 2001; a son, Mark L. Anderson, of Pasadena, California; and a sister, Phyllis Anderson Nyquist, of San Jose, California.
