Marian (Kosel) Anderson, loving wife of the late Weston Anderson, passed into heavenly eternity on the morning of Saturday, September 12, 2026. Born in 1924, Marian was blessed to have lived 102 and a half glorious years.
She is survived by her six children, Carol (the late Randall Jorgensen), Larry (Nancy) Anderson, Joy (Tom) Rice, Gail (Blake) Levin, Brian (Joann) Anderson, and Jayne (Ken) Taylor.
Marian is also survived by 21 living grandchildren, Tim (Rina) Jorgensen, Nate (Jen) Jorgensen, Tommy Rice, Jeremy (Lindsey) Rice, Becky Rice Wolfe (Bryan), Sarah Rice Lampkin (Travis), Andrew (Helene) Anderson, Elizabeth Anderson, Joshua (Jaime) Anderson, Rachel Anderson, Amanda Levin Boland (Casey), Zachary (Tabitha) Levin, Tyler (Lisa) Levin, Alexis Levin, Hannah Anderson, Abigail Anderson, Evangeline Anderson Mikos (Bobby), Weston (Lily) Anderson, Noah (Anjanette) Taylor, Caleb Taylor, Luke Taylor, and predeceased by grandson Kevin Jorgensen.
Marian is lovingly remembered by her 13 living great grandchildren, Raphael Jorgensen, Mikhael Jorgensen, Grace Jorgensen, Eva Jorgensen, Sonya Wolfe, Lyla Wolfe, Bella Wolfe, Emma Rice, Luke Rice, Isaiah Rice, Liam Lampkin, Makiyah Lampkin, and Jaxson Lampkin.
Marian lived a very active life of faith and service in her church. In her younger years, she and Weston enjoyed square dancing together, and she continued swimming well into her later years, and went to the pool until she was 98. She even drove her own car until she was 96. She possessed a true spiritual gift of hospitality and being surrounded with friends and family brought her great joy throughout her lifetime. Her gift of mercy was evident as she always had an open door to the hurting and those in need. She loved children, and frequently served all children in church ministry. Marian was faithful to pray daily for those she loved, both family and friends, and the missionaries she supported.
Jesus was her leader and forgiver and gave her new life, and she loved him. She now rests in His presence, welcomed with open arms: “Well done, my good and faithful servant; enter into my house with joy. Your life on earth has ended, but you will live with me for eternity.”
A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, October 17th at 10:00 a.m. at Living Grace Community Church, 1500 Silver Lake Road in Cary, Illinois. There will be a brief visitation prior to the service, starting at 9:00 a.m. and will continue until the start of the service at 10:00 a.m. It would have meant a great deal to Marian for people to come on Saturday, but for those who are unable to come to her celebration, there is an opportunity to visit with the family on Friday, October 16th from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Interment will take place at Ridgewood Memorial Park in Des Plaines, Illinois following Marian's celebration of life on Saturday.
In honor of Marian, friends and family are encouraged to not wear black to her services. Instead, consider wearing something colorful as we celebrate her life and the hope we have in Christ.
