Obituary

Marguerite Anderson Parchman, 81, passed away Saturday, November 17, at Sunrise Assisted Living of Glen Ellyn, IL. Marguerite, or Marge, was born in Chicago and grew up in the Beverly/Morgan Park community in the southwest part of the city. She attended Shimer College and graduated from Northwestern University in 1947. Marguerite worked as a model in Chicago before marrying Jack Parchman in 1949. The couple lived in the city before moving to Sleepy Hollow, Il in 1960. Mrs. Parchman taught elementary school in the area and was a member of the First Congregational Church of Dundee. Marguerite and Jack moved away from the Chicago area in 1972.
Jack's career in the beef & cattle industry took them to Wayne, NE; Dumas, TX; Wichita, KS; and settled in Fort Collins, CO in 1982. Marge became a free lance writer during this time and had many articles published by local papers and magazines.
Marge enjoyed golf, church, travel, gardening, politics and her family.
Mrs. Parchman is survived by a daughter, Leslie Olson, and son-in-law, Chris Olson, of Boulder, Colorado, her son, Todd Parchman, and daughter-in law, Bryn Parchman, of Baltimore, Maryland, her sisters, Elaine Fellowes of Wheaton, Illinois, and Phyllis Alcock of Indianhead Park, Illinois, and grandchildren Max Olson, Jack Parchman, Andy Parchman and Kallie Parchman.
Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband, Liddell Jackson Parchman Jr.; her eldest son, Robert Anderson Parchman; grandson, Larson Parchman; brother, Roger Allen Anderson; and her parents Oscar Allen and Ellen Isabelle Anderson.
A Memorial Service will be held this Saturday, December 1st at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at the First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton, 715 N. Carlton Street, Wheaton, IL with Pastor Caryle Wilkie officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service.
