Margaret Ruth Manos, age 86, a resident of Wheaton, died Tuesday, September 5, at the Wynscape Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wheaton. She was born February 1, 1920 in New Zealand.
Mrs. Manos was a self-employed Music Teacher. She was also known for her creativity, and her paintings. She was very generous, making 87 gifts at a recent Christmas, including hats, gloves, scarves, etc. which she then donated to the DuPage Children and Family Services (DCFS).
She is survived by her three children, Rex F. Rose of Batavia, Judith A. (Jim) Karonis of Glen Ellyn, and June A. Rose, also of Glen Ellyn; six grandchildren, Peter, Ourania, Jim, Rex, Chris, and John; and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; her parents, Tom and Ethel Jones; and a number of brothers and sisters.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 8, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of a service at 12:00 P.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, with the Rev. David Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery in Hillside.
