Margaret M. Gustafson, age 104, a resident of Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 21, at the Johnson Medical Center at Windsor Park. She was born in Orebro, Sweden on January 11, 1901.

She was brought to the United States by her adoptive parents, Emil and Hannah Gilberg, when she was 18 months old. She was raised in Ludington, MI and moved to Chicago as a teenager. Margaret went to business school and worked as a bookkeeper in the credit industry. On May 14, 1927 she married J. Morris Gustafson. They were married for over 60 years.

She lived out her strong Christian faith by being very involved in Child Evangelism Fellowship, Pioneer Girls, Miracle Club, taught Sunday School and was a soloist and choir member. Together with her husband they served as short-term missionaries in Kenya for African Inland Mission. She was a long time member of College Church in Wheaton.

She is survived by three daughters, Dolly (Doug) Anderson of Grand Rapids, MI, Marilyn (Ed) Albright of Wheaton and Marge (Dave) Elowson of Bradenton, FL, 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law Helen Nystrom of Wheaton.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988, and 12 siblings.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. A memorial service will be held on Friday at 2 P.M. in the Fireside Room of College Church in Wheaton, Seminary and Washington St. in Wheaton.

Private interment will be held at Chapel Hill Gardens West in Oak Brook Terrace.
