Margaret Fromer's Obituary
Margaret Fromer, age 82, a resident of Downers Grove, IL, died Sunday, September 22, 2013, in Downers Grove, IL. She was born September 14, 1931 in Berkeley, CA.
Maggie graduated from Stanford University with a Masters of Arts degree in 1954. She earned a Masters in Counseling from the Wheaton College Graduate School in 1982. For the next ten years she worked for the Center For Life Skills with the LaSalle Street Church in Chicago, IL. She co-wrote ten Small Group Bible Study Guides, some of which were translated into Chinese, Swedish and Indonesian. She was a true partner with her husband Paul and his work with InterVarsity.
She is survived by three children, David of Oregon, Joel (Lee) of Chicago, IL, and Ruth (Bob) Fox of California; three grandchildren, Joel (Nicki), Kathryn and Becca; and her sister, Mary Jo El-Wattar.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Paul, in December of last year.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at College Church, 332 E. Seminary Ave. in Wheaton, IL. Interment is private.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be directed to the Morton Arboretum, 4100 Illinois Route 53, Lisle, IL 60532.
