Margaret E. DiGangi, age 87, raised and lived in Chicago, IL. Margaret went home to the Lord on Thursday, November 26, 2015 in Oak Lawn, IL. She was born on February 24, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois to William and Frances Konow.
Margaret was a Born Again Christian and loved and trusted Jesus with her whole being. She loved talking about Jesus to anyone and everyone, and brought many people to Christ. She loved reading the Bible and carried a pocket size one in her purse so she could read it wherever she went. She also believed in prayer and prayed fervently on a daily basis. The Light of Christ shone through Margaret and she lived boldly in Jesus Christ.
Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and sister. Margaret was primarily a homemaker while working various jobs throughout her life. Her family meant the world to her and nothing made her happier than to be with her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was a gifted storyteller and always shared tales that made us laugh. She had a lot of spunk and was so loved for it. Her favorite job was being a Senior Companion for the City of Chicago. She spent time with the seniors taking them out and, of course, sharing stories about her family with them.
Margaret had a servant's heart. She was happiest when serving and taking care of others, and sharing everything she had with us. She had a beautiful voice that she used to make up songs about her family. She enjoyed playing games and cards with us. Margaret taught all of us what life was truly about, loving Jesus and loving her family.
Margaret is survived by her seven children, John (Patti), David, Thomas, Lawrence (Teri), Mary (Sam), Joseph and Michael (Sandra); 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; and her brother, Donald Konow.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, John R. DiGangi; parents, William and Frances Konow; brothers, Lawrence, Gilbert, Leo, William, Robert, James, Eugene, Howard and Joseph; sisters, Marie, Ruth, Dolores, and Genevieve; and grandson, Gary Thompson, JR.
Interment is private at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Hillside, IL.
