Margaret A. Denniger, nee Selcke, age 83, a resident of West Chicago, passed away Tuesday, June 28, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. She was born August 30, 1921 in Chicago.

Margaret worked as a charge nurse at the DuPage Convalescent Center in Wheaton until 1963. She then worked at the US Post Office in Winfield for 25 years. Throughout her life she has been a devoted member at St. John the Baptist Church in Winfield, where she served as a member of the CCW. She was a Lay Missionary of Christ (an Order of Mother Theresa's), and also served as a Eucharistic Minister for Central DuPage Hospital, DuPage Convalescent Center, as well as the homebound. She was loved by her family and friends.

She is survived by her eight children, Charles "Denny" of Iowa City, IA, Kathryn Bird of Batavia, Terry of Winfield, Patrick (Jane) of Carol Stream, Mary (Joe) Zimmerman of Elburn, Jean Rushing of St. Charles, Tom (Gail) of Winfield, and Steve (Gina) of Glen Ellyn; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sister Jean Edward, O.P., and Lucille Vanecek; and many nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Charles; her son, Philip; her son-in-law, Bruce Bird; and her daughter-in-law, Drina.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 1, from 3-8 P.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton. A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday, July 2, at St. John the Baptist, 0S 233 Church St., in Winfield. Prayers will be held at the funeral home at 9:00 A.M. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Winfield.
