Obituary

Margaret J. Brewster, age 95, a resident of Wheaton, IL, died Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at her home. She was a former resident of Joliet, IL, and a 50-year former resident of Franklin Park, IL. She was born November 25, 1915 in Steward, IL.

She was the youngest of three sisters (Anna, Sue) and seven brothers (Robert, Philo, Montrose, Jason, Harry, Rowland, and John Francis) Corwin, who grew up playing softball together in the farm fields of Steward. In her Franklin Park years she focused on her children, and on volunteer work for the Franklin Park Public Library, the Kiwanis Bloodmobile, and Westlake Community Hospital.

In Wheaton she enjoyed gardening, reading, knitting and delighting friends with her grace, kindness and humor. A tiny woman, she stood under five feet tall, and weighed 84 pounds at her death, which she met with a smile.

She is survived by two children, Franklin "Bud" Brewster, Jr. of Wheaton, IL, and Kathleen (William) Hamilton of Montclair, NJ; and her granddaughter, Alexandra Hamilton. Franklin C. Brewster. Sr., her husband of 53 years, died in 1994.

A memorial service will be announced later.
