Memorial services will be held for Malvina (Mal) Price, 101, at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010 at First Presbyterian Church, 715 N. Carlton Ave., Wheaton, Illinois.

Malvina was born Dec. 27, 1908 in Chicago, Illinois to Charles and Elsa Devendorf. She married Minor Carr Price, June 1, 1935. She was a long time Wheaton resident and died at Brighton Gardens of Colorado Springs on July 22, 2010.

Malvina was very family oriented. She raised three children in Wheaton. Her interests included music. She bought her own piano at age 16 and whenever and wherever she moved the piano accompanied her. She wrote music and some of her musical compositions were played during her 100th birthday celebration.

She helped found the Child Support Division in the DuPage County Circuit Clerk's office which later became a model for child support divisions throughout the state. The office grew from two to ten employees and was collecting more than $1 million in child support at the time of her retirement. The division was organized during the tenure of Robert M. Haenisch as Circuit Clerk of DuPage County. She also served as a confidential secretary to Mr. Haenisch.

Survivors include her children - Noel Spencer (Sue) Price, Brent Adam (Sherri) Price and Cheryl Avis Price; her grandchildren, April (Don) Cook, Dianne (Bill) Hatley, Adam (Jill) Price, Cara Price and Christopher Price; her great-grandchildren, Sara Jerousek, Analie Jerousek, Elsa Jerousek, Alexander Price, Jordan Price, Savannah Hatley, Ryan Hatley and Katelyn Hatley; and many friends and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Minor; and her granddaughter, Jill Kristen Price.
