Mak Stanley Kawano, age 90, a resident of Wheaton, IL, died Friday, November 25, 2011, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. He was born July 16, 1921 in Powell, WY.
Mak was a farmer at heart and always enjoyed working outside. He also enjoyed pheasant hunting with his dog. He worked for over forty years at the American Tara Corporation in Chicago, IL.
He is survived by his son, Mak Jr. of Marietta, GA; his granddaughter, Stephanie; two sisters, Francis and Sue; and three brothers, John, Jim and Eddie.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Fumiko "Francis"; his daughter, Sharon Yokoi; his son-in-law, Art Yokoi; and six brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton, IL. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, IL.
