Madelyn Switzer Risney, 97, of Utica, NY passed away May 8th, 2010 in Wheaton, IL. Born in Rutland, VT, she was a daughter of Floyd and Stella Perkins Switzer. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 yrs, Dale R Risney. They were members of Westminister Presbyterian Church. She and Dale spent many happy years at their 4th Lake summer home in the Adirondacks. Madelyn was a docent at Munson Williams Proctor Institute for 37 yrs, a hostess for Greater Utica Welcome Wagon for 15 yrs, and was an officer of D.A.R., Utica Boys Club Auxiliary, Landmark Society, Colonial Dames, and Save the Children. Madelyn is survived by her daughter Suzanne and son-in-law Stanley Pike of Cape Cod and FL and her son Dale Risney Jr and his fiance Ann Skarsten of FL and Old Forge. Mimi leaves 4 grandchildren: Stephen Pike and wife Kari of Marblehead, MA, Marc Risney of Portland, OR, Benjamin Risney of Spring City, PA, Stacey Pike of Wheaton, IL and 4 great grandchildren. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
