IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lyubov G.
Vlasov
August 16, 1951 – July 21, 2025
Lyubov G. Vlasov, 73, a longtime resident of Wheaton, peacefully passed away in her sleep on July 21, 2025.
Born in Riga, Latvia on August 16, 1951, as the oldest of five kids, Lyubov was known for her spirited demeanor, endearing personality, and loving heart. Renowned for delicious cooking and impeccable gardening skills, one of Lyubov's greatest passions was singing in her church's choir. She worked in Latvia for many years as a professional seamstress—producing men's suits and jackets. Throughout her life, she generously gifted friends and family beautiful clothes she had sewed, stitched, or knitted.
In February 1986, Lyubov married Vladimir Vlasov. Soon the couple welcomed their daughter, Veronika. Lyubov's pride and joy was her daughter—and the pair enjoyed a special, deeply-connected relationship for Lyubov's entire life. In 1996, Lyubov's family immigrated to the United States, as Lyubov sought to give her daughter—who eventually became a physician—better opportunities to succeed.
Christian faith was the cornerstone of Lyubov's life. Being active in her church and reading her Bible were two of her favorite activities. She often talked with excitement about her family all gathering together in heaven one day—a thought that is now comforting to her relatives still on Earth. Her care of her husband Vladimir during a cancer battle exemplified her commitment to him and to her faith.
Lyubov's family would like to say a special thank you to all the nurses, CNAs, doctors, administrators, and healthcare professionals who helped Lyubov towards the end of her life. Your compassionate care for her is deeply appreciated and will never be forgotten.
Lyubov is survived by her daughter Veronika (née Vlasov) Magruder, her son-in-law David Magruder, her sisters Vera Romanovich, Nadezda Kotkova, Anna Talipova, as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband Vladimir Vlasov, her brother Mikhail Lavrik, her father George Lavrik, and her mother Nadezda Lavrik.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 9 a.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Wheaton, IL 60187 with a memorial service to follow at 10 a.m.
