Luis Alberto Lugo, age 62, a resident of Glendale Heights for 20 years, died Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. He was born August 31, 1954 in Yauco, Puerto Rico to Damian and Cornelia Lugo.
Luis grew up in Yauco and came to the Chicago area in his 20's. He married Idalia Sandoval. For over 40 years he worked for Anderson-Snow Corporation in Shiller Park as a machine operator.
He was handy and enjoyed working on his home. He also enjoyed cooking, and especially enjoyed playing with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Idalia, four children, Silvia Delgado of Carol Stream, David (Cindia) Ramos of Chicago, Luis Lugo Jr. of Glendale Heights and Veronica Lugo of Glendale Heights, nine grandchildren, Anna, Jonathan, David Jr., Lawrence, Sean, Victor, Gionni, Gucciano, and Luis III, his siblings, Susana, Lydia, Lucy, Blanc, Marianita, Jesus and Edith and his granddog, Rocky.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Carmen.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 12, from 2:00 until 8;00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton. A mass will be held on Monday, February 13, at 10:45 a.m. at St. Isidore Church, 427 W. Army Trail Road, Bloomingdale, IL 60108. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery in Elmhurst, Illinois.
