Lucille B. Anderson, age 96, a resident of Somonauk, IL, died Wednesday, May 9, at home. She was born July 10, 1915 in Oak Park to Louis and Blanche Bishop.

Lucille grew up in Oak Park, Forest Park and Hollywood, IL and graduated from Riverside-Brookfield High School. She married Francis G. "Andy" Anderson on April 24, 1948. They lived in Chicago, Ivanhoe and Tinley Park, where they raised their family. After a tornado hit Tinley Park in 1965 she became a full time employee of County Companies Insurance, where she later became office manager. After leaving the insurance agency she joined Campbell-Mithun Advertising as an executive secretary for the Kroger Grocery account from where she retired at age 70 after 12 years of service.

Music was her first love and she was a trained soprano. She enjoyed singing in the choir of The First National Bank of Chicago and also at Claus's Restaurant, where during WWII she entertained the troops who where home on leave. She loved chocolate, crossword puzzles and was an avid reader.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Jerome) Wagner of Wheaton and Pam Anderson of Somonauk, her step-daughter, Hazel LaVerne Rutledge of Jefferson, WI, two step-grandsons, four step great-grandchildren and her sister, Shirley Rauch of Lafayette, LA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one brother, Robert Bishop.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 16, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Forest Home Cemetery in Forest Park, Illinois.
