Louis J. Taddeucci, age 78, a resident of Rochelle and formerly a longtime resident of Wheaton, died Tuesday, February 10, at home.
He was born on January 1, 1931 in Chicago.
He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. On June 20, 1953 he married Joan Maresh. While working and raising his family he took night classes to earn his GED. He was an accomplished machinist who worked his way up to management positions. He was an avid hobbyist who built radio controlled airplanes. His P-51 Mustang is on display at the Italian American Museum.
He currently served as Commander of the American Legion Post #0403 in Rochelle.
Mr. Taddeucci is survived by two sons, Michael Louis Taddeucci, and Thomas Lee (Suzanne) Taddeucci; and four grandchildren, Nicholas, Leigh, Alyson and Megan and one sister Ann Taddeucci of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan, one son Mark Andrew Taddeucci, his parents and one brother, George.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church, 300 E. Cole, Wheaton. Prayers will be held at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m.Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
