Lorraine M. Divis' Obituary
Lorraine M. Divis, age 92, a resident of Schaumburg and formerly of Carol Stream, died Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Lexington Healthcare Center in Schaumburg. She was born on September 4, 1918 in Chicago.
Her family was the most important thing in her life. She loved family picnics, bowling, dancing, music and the Cubs. She was always smiling.
She is survived by her children, Donna (Bill) Sickels of Providence Forge, VA, Donald (Louise) Divis of Newport News, VA, and Dorene Taylor of Carol Stream, daughter-in-law, Carol Divis of Lindenhurst, 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one sister, Mary Denges of Carol Stream and many nieces and nephews.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Joseph M. Divis, one son Joseph M. Divis Jr., and six brothers and sisters.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 24, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. A mass will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Mark Church, Cole St., just east of Main St. in Wheaton, Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park in Elgin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Alzheimer's Association, Greater Illinois Chapter 8430 Bryn Mawr Ave. Suite 800 Chicago, Illinois 60631-3473 or Vitas Hospice, 580 Waters Edge, Suite 100, Lombard, IL 60148.
