Lornalee J. Rapinchuk, age 72, a resident of Glendale Heights, IL, died Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. She was born June 10, 1938 in Chicago, IL.
Lorna was a nurturing person. She was known as a surrogate grandmother for many people and was quick to soothe with humor. One of her favorite passages of scripture was Ephesians 4:29. She was a woman mindful of what she spoke, and she spoke as an encourager who used her good words as joy and medicine for others. Everyone knew that they could count on Lorna for her time, her talent and her treasure.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Rapinchuk of Glendale Heights, IL; her children, Tom (Maria), Rodney (Hasana) and AlexSandra (Paul "Po"); grandchildren, including Nancey, Declan and Lucy, Michael, Nicole, Max and Sammie, Mason and Braden, Farah, Shanna, Alette and Tom, Brittany and Aubrey, Brett and Claudette, and Juwan and Jabari; two brothers, Chuck (Lottie), and Duayne (Sherri); her sister, Marlyne (Kurt); and a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of a funeral to be held at 3:00 p.m. at Wheaton Evangelical Free Church, 520 E. Roosevelt Rd, in Wheaton, IL. Interment will be held at Abe Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 11:30 a.m.
